When is the best time to go fishing in the Dry Tortugas or Marquesas Keys?

Fishing Charter FAQ. That’s a tough question because everyone has their favorite time of the year to fish in the Florida Keys. Whether it be in January or June. Bottom fishing for snapper and grouper can be done year-round. People that like to fish nights come in the summer time. Daytime bottom fishing is excellent during the winter months. Spring and Fall can produce both hot and cool weather. Grouper can be fished year-round as well as porgys, grunts, amberjack, sharks and mackerel.

Can we troll?

Sure, lots of groups do this on the way out. Bring a variety of lures with you.

Where are the Marquesas Keys and the Dry Tortugas?

Fishing Charter FAQ the Marquesas is 28 miles from Key West Harbor, the Dry Tortugas is 79 miles west of Key West.

Can we take more than six on a boat, even if it is a small child?
No, six is the limit by law.

Can we fish at night?
Yes, absolutely!

How deep do we fish?
We fish in any range between 25 to 800 feet of water.

How much is the deposit?

Deposits are 50% of the total cost of the trip. You must write the dates you are fishing and your contact phone number in the memo blank on your check.


When is the best weather?

Your guess is as good as ours. Summer produces tropical depressions, Spring we have thunderstorms, Fall can be tropical depressions and thunderstorms, winter we have cold fronts that move through. When all these things are not going on, the weather is beautiful! Basically you buy a ticket and take your chances with the weather (see cancellation policy). No matter what, if you come with the right attitude you are bound to have a great time.
